In brewing, mashing is the process of combining a mix of milled grain (typically malted barley with supplementary grains such as corn, sorghum, rye or wheat), known as the “grain bill”, and water, known as “liquor”, and heating this mixture. For this website the ingredients are a mixture of festivals, competitions, beer recipes, or anything exciting (or just plain weird) in and around the world of Nanobrews. Since we love homebrewing it only seemed appropriate that we call this section

The end of the world is nigh, or so apocalypse observers would have you believe. The Mayan calendar may have begun in 3114BC and continued unerringly ever since, but it came to an abrupt halt on 21 December 2012. The KC Nanobrewers know the end of days isn’t coming anytime soon. Your probably wondering how we know this. Was it a message from God? Are we psychic? Did leftover chicken bones point the way? Well no. The old adage ”A picture is worth a thousand words” refers to the notion that a complex idea can be conveyed with just a single still image. We concur with that philosophy. In today’s high tech world images flow through social networks like beer through our belly. Some pics have us rolling in laughter, some evoke tears of sadness, while others just leave us completely speechless. Check out the gallery for all the stills of our life. Within the larger Nanobrew group we have what is known as the “Founding Fathers”. Five individuals, that aren’t exactly known for anything as significant as signing the Declaration of Independence, but they do believe it’s a persons right to enjoy a good beer every once in awhile.
